I have my legs bowed, does that mean exactly what?

You have what is called a genu varum, a deviation of the knee and axis of the leg inward.

Your knees touch very easily but not your ankles, which remain very far from one another.

Beyond the aesthetic aspect, the risk, having legs in the shape of an arc, is to see pain appear because the knees do not work normally and that they use.

The ligaments make it possible to maintain the joint. Within the framework of a genu varum, it is the internal lateral ligaments that suffer. Very quickly, the bones are no longer protected, which increases the risk of osteoarthritis.

I have legs arched: the solutions

Babies often have arched legs at birth. As they grow, they naturally recur, without the need for intervention.

When this problem is perpetuated during childhood, the simple fact of wearing orthopedic insoles is usually sufficient to restore a normal knee axis.

If you have not had the chance to see this pathology when you were a child, you have only one solution: to have you operated. This surgical procedure is called osteotomy.

It consists of correcting the alignment of the knees and rebalancing the different pressures that it undergoes. Result: the pain is relieved and osteoarthritis ceases to spread.

I have the legs arched: and if I stopped complexing?

As you can see, at this stage, surgery is the only way to get your knees back on track.

Celiac disease: a vaccine against the accidental intake of gluten

The celiac patients will be able to protect themselves from an accidental intake of gluten thanks to a new vaccine, Nexvax2 which has proved its effectiveness in the clinical trials.

The latest Phase 1 clinical trial data from Nexvax2, a vaccine to protect celiac patients from adverse effects of accidental gluten intake, has shown conclusive results, according to a study published in the medical journal The Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

ImmusanT researchers, vaccine manufacturers, conducted two randomized phase I, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials of the efficacy and side effects of Nexvax2, a vaccine designed to protect celiac patients from accidental intake Of gluten.

The results revealed that patients treated with Nexvax2 in these trials showed a change in the immune response to gluten without apparent duodenal injury. Nexvax2 reduced the reactivity of specific T cells in response to gluten in celiac disease.

“The results of these two Phase 1 studies suggest that Nexvax2, a therapeutic vaccine evaluated for the management of celiac disease, demonstrates a relevant bioactivity and excellent outcome,” said Robert Anderson, Scientific Director of ImmusanT. In addition, patients treated with Nexvax2 in these trials underwent a change in the gluten-mediated immune response without apparent duodenal injury. The results indicate that Nexvax2 reduces the reactivity of gluten-specific T cells to stimulation in celiac disease ” .

Celiac disease is an immune gastrointestinal disease caused by dietary gluten. Approximately 90% of patients with celiac disease carry the human leukocyte antigen-DQ2.5 immune recognition gene (HLA-DQ2.5). At present, there is no pharmaceutical treatment for this condition and the only management method is to maintain a gluten-free diet that is expensive and often impractical.
